Corporate governance
Origin Energy's board and management are committed to acting responsibly, ethically and with the highest standards of integrity as the company strives to create shareholder value.
To achieve this requires sound corporate governance practices and policies that have been adopted by the Board and implemented throughout all levels of management.
Origin Energy's corporate governance practices are described in the Origin Energy Corporate Governance Statement (pdf 114 KB) which is set out in the 2007 Annual Report. Origin Energy also produces a Sustainability Report which reports on the sustainability of our activities against environmental, social and economic objectives.
The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) Corporate Governance Council released Principles of Good Corporate Governance and Best Practice Recommendations (“the Principles”) on 31 March 2003. Origin Energy has reviewed its current practices and established that it is in accordance with the Principles.
The Corporate Governance Statement includes information on Origin Energy's compliance with the Principles for the year ended 30 June 2007 and includes a compliance matrix which provides a snapshot of Origin Energy’s compliance with the Principles.
