To Origin, sustainability means managing our business in a way that balances our environmental, social and economic impacts.
Our commitment to sustainable development requires that we understand our impacts on people and the environment and that we incorporate social, economic and environmental risks and benefits into our business decision-making.
We have an integrated approach, which includes a risk-assessment process that balances the potential social, community, environmental and financial consequences of projects. We also set high standards of environmental and safety performance outlined in our Safety, Health and Environment policy
After listing in February 2000, on the Australian Stock Exchange, we established a set of commitments and values that define the outcomes that we strive to achieve for key stakeholders.
As the business has grown, these statements have been tested and refined. In 2005 we also developed a set of principles to provide added guidance and direction for decision making.
