Programs
offered by Origin include:
Salary sacrifice
Origin has developed a salary sacrifice program enabling employees to
save money by using before-tax income to pay for Origin Energy bills and
products or to contribute to superannuation. Employees are also able to
purchase items such as laptop or portable computers, electronic diaries
or briefcases under the salary sacrifice program.
Serious illness and salary continuance
Origin Energy has established and meets the costs of a Serious Illness
Policy and Salary Continuance Plan that protects employees who are unable
to work due to illness or injury.
Employee share plan
Origin has an Employee Share Plan which assists employees become part
owners of Origin. Performance hurdles are established each year. If these
hurdles are achieved, shares will be allocated to employees in recognition
of the contribution made toward those achievements.
Balancing work and life
A number of policies have been developed to assist employees balance work
and other activities. These include:
- Educational assistance and study leave
- 13 week paid maternity leave
- Up to 4 weeks purchased leave
- Careers, paternity and adoption leave
- Home based working arrangements
Community engagement
Our people take volunteering leave to engage with and give time
to community organisations. And through our Matched Giving program, Origin
matches employee donations to a range of charities, dollar for dollar.
