Adelaide Solar Cities
We're working with all levels of government, companies and our community in a partnership to help build a more sustainable energy future in our cities.
In Adelaide , we're contributing our expertise and resources as a member of the Solar Cities consortium for a pilot project involving solar power, smart meters, energy efficiency and new approaches to electricity pricing.
This initiative was started by the Australian Federal Government in 2004 and the Adelaide solar consortium, led by us, and was chosen as a pilot site in 2006.
The program will deliver a number of significant benefits to the South Australian community from 2007 to 2013, including:
- Installing solar panels on up to 5 iconic buildings in Adelaide
- Innovative finance packages to make solar power more affordable
- A major campaign to increase take- up of GreenPower, smart meters and energy efficiency.
